בעידן המדיה המפותח כיום, גם עבירות המתבצעות בכלים אחרים המצויים ברחבי האינטרנט (למשל: פייסבוק) הן בעלות חומרה גדולה ומשמעות, בעיקר כאשר הן מבוצעות כלפי קטינים. כאשר בגיר שולח תוכן מיני חושפני (חושף איבר מין או דורש מהצד השני לשלוח תמונות חושפניות שלו) לקטין, הדבר מהווה עבירת מין מסוג מעשה מגונה. כאשר העבירה מבוצעת כלפי קטין מתחת לגיל 14, מדובר בעבירה בעלת נסיבה מחמירה וכן כאשר זו מבוצעת כלפי מי שטרם מלאו לו 18 (קטין).
יש לשים לב כי החוק מתייחס לעבירת מעשה מגונה באופן רחב ולא דורש מגע פיזי על מנת לבסס את העבירה. על כן, עבירות המתבצעות באינטרנט או באמצעי מדיה אחרים נחשבות אף הן למעשה מגונה. כמו כן, כאשר הדבר מתבצע תוך איום או שימוש והפעלת לחץ – כגון איום שאם הקורבן לא ישתף פעולה, מבצע העבירה יפרסם תמונות של הקטין או ימצא אותו – הדבר מהווה גם כן נסיבה מחמירה.
כיצד יכולה המשטרה להוכיח שהיו התכתבויות נוספות?
